Inaugural Open House: Shashi Katiyar, Pooja Bhat

Alumni Speak is a IET Lucknow Alumni Association speaker series where we bring in distinguished alumni from all professional fields and have them inspire, motivate, coach and teach current students and alumni alike.

This is the first major Alumni Speak event held in college campus in front of the live audience. In this inaugural event, Shashi Katiyar (CS 1989) and Pooja Bhat (EC 2010) covered range of topics from Onsite opportunities in Software Companies, Higher studies, entrepreneurship, UPSC preparations (CSAT), life of Civil Servants etc.

This event was a great success. Students liked the talk and the format of these presentations in general. The discussions and feedback on this is available at our private discourse forums.

Shashi Katiyar (CS 1989)

Mr Shashikant Katiyar is a B.Tech. in Computer Sciences, graduated out of IET in 1989. After working for Uptron’s software division in Lucknow for 2 years, he joined Tata Consultancy Services in 1991 where he managed prestigious clients such as JP Morgan and Citibank. Shashi left TCS in 1997 to start his own company ‘Antrix Corporation’ in Miami USA. The products developed by Antrix were rated amongst the best in the Industry by IBM. After working in USA for over 10 years, he returned to India in 2002 and joined Polaris Software as Vice President. He moved back to USA in 2004 and is currently working at Intel Corporation. He lives in Folsom (California USA) with his wife Sangeeta and 2 sons, Eashaan & Devansh.

Pooja Bhat (EC 2010)

Ms Pooja Bhat, is an IET 2010 batch pass out from Electronics and Communication Engineering . She qualified UPSC Civil Services Examination-2011 and was selected for Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS). After completion of training in National Institute of Financial Management, Faridabad and National Academy of Defence Financial Management,Pune, she had her first stint as Assistant Controller Defence Accounts in PCDA, Northern Command(Army). She headed prestigious audit conferences in Leh, Srinanagar, Jammu etc. Thereafter the officer was transferred to Kanpur in 2016 and served as Integrated Financial Advisor (Airforce) along with other additional responsibilities. She is presently posted as Deputy Controller of Finance and Accounts (Ordnance Factories) in Kanpur with procurement responbilities for Ordnance Parachute Factory ,Field Gun Factory and Central Ordnance Depot. She is married to Prashant Dubey who is also an IDAS officer and an IIT Delhi alumni.
